Unfortunately, more often than not I do not have the time to make the dinner table extra special when I have invited friends. I know one should take the time but I guess you can relate when I say that sometimes we run out of time because there are many other things we need to do. But this little palm tree straw topper is done pretty quickly! You just cut it out, put it on a straw and well, that's nearly it.But bevor we jump into that let's have a look at this really refreshing drink for hot summer days!

Watermelon Slushy for hot Summer Days

We usually tease my mum when summer starts with her love for watermelons. Because, then, usually, she really starts craving these things and you "have" to eat them (or drink now!) each day. Which really is not the worst thing to do. So here is our favourite Watermelon Slushy - nothing fancy but delicious!

Ingredients (4 glasses)

  • seedless Watermelon
  • Lemon
  • ice cubes
  • mint leaves if you like

Instructions

Simple but tasty! Cut your watermelon in half (or quarter- depending on how many glasses you want). Slice it and put it into a mixer, like ours*.

Put the mash into a pitcher. Get the lemon, role it on the counter to get more juice out of the fruit and then squeeze it. Add one lemon for half a watermelon of about 3 kg. Taste bevor you add the entire lemon juice, maybe you like it less sour?
Fill your Watermelon Slushy into glasses and add some ice cubes.

Palm Tree Straw Toppers

I know, they are not really necessary but, if we are honest, you can see if someone added time and thought into its dinner table. As a guest you definitely feel more welcomed, don't you? And: They are done really quickly. It's all about cutting out the palm leaves and placing them on the straw. I have a detailed video and printable for you inside the Pepper Printable Club.
