I usually enjoy scrambled egg for breakfast. But recently I decided that it is time to skip that. A friend told me that especially eggs have a lot of cholesterol. Not that I didn't know this common knowledge but I was in doubt - I mean as much as you are in doubt if you tell yourself that something you know is not good for you is something you enjoy eating ;-). Anyway, I found a replacement and I promise, you'll love it, too!

Halloween Jam with a secret Ingredient

You most probably know orange jam. Maybe you have even tried pumpkin jam - or something else with pumpkins. But have you ever tried orange-pumpkin jam and added a tonka bean? I bet not! And I promise you'll love it! So let's start cooking our jam.

Ingredients (12 Glasses)

  • Oranges (about 1000g)
  • Pumpkin (about 1000g)
  • Jam Sugar (please check the package for instructions)
  • ... and, the secret ingredient, a Tonka Bean!

Instructions

Gather the ingredients and shred the oranges and the pumpkin in small pieces because that is what we need to cook!

Add your slices of orange and pumpkin into a pot and slowly cook it.

Add a Tonka Bean because that is where the special favour comes from!

Use a blender to liquidise the fruit and vegetables. Add the jam sugar and stir it for three minutes.

Take a spoon and put a bit of the jam on it. Now add everything to a plate and see if it thickens. If it does you can start filling the jam into the glasses.

Make sure your glasses are 100% clean, that is very important - otherwise your jam might mold.

Turn your glasses with the filled jam upside down and enjoy a slice of bread as soon as it has cooled!

And once done don't forget to decorate your handmade jam with some lovely Halloween Pantry Labels! Wouldn't you agree that this makes a fantastic gift?
