The hustle and bustle of the holidays can rush us through the season. But imagine brewing a cup of cocoa, turning on your favorite carols, and spending a peaceful afternoon crafting your own Christmas cards and gift tags. Slowing down to create something by hand is one of those cozy holiday ideas that warms the heart.
In this post, I’ll showcase three delightful printable Christmas cards and a matching set of printable gift tags that invite you to craft your way to a merrier season. These designs — from cute bears and Santa gnomes to festive forest friends — are ready to print at home, so you can enjoy Christmas crafts at home with a personal touch.

Let’s explore the joy of DIY Christmas cards and tags, and how you can get them through the Pepper Printable Club or individually, to start crafting more joyfully this season.

Meet the Merry Designs: Printable Cards & Tags

Each of these designs captures a different charming aspect of the holidays. Whether you’re into adorable animals or heartfelt sentiments, there’s something here to make you smile while crafting your Christmas printables.

“Merry Everything” Card (Bear & Tree)

The “Merry Everything” card features a cuddly bear in a Santa hat next to a whimsical Christmas tree. The bear is holding a present and smiling, while the tree is decorated with buttons, ribbons, and a star on top, giving it a crafty, handmade feel. The phrase “Merry everything and happy always!” on the card reminds us to celebrate all the little moments of the season with joy. This card’s warm, inclusive message and playful artwork make it perfect for spreading cheer to everyone on your list, no matter what they celebrate. Its cozy design (notice the rustic gifts and pine sprigs in the scene) sets a heartwarming, homespun tone that any recipient will adore.

“Santa’s Got Nothing on Your Kindness” Card (Santa & Fireplace)

The “Santa’s Got Nothing on Your Kindness” card shows a sweet Santa gnome standing by a glowing fireplace decorated with stockings and candles. The quote on the card – “Santa’s got nothing on your kindness.” – adds a heartfelt, joyful message that can brighten anyone’s day. In the illustration, Santa looks extra cozy with his big beard and festive outfit, holding a little sprig of holly, and the fireplace gives off a warm glow. This card perfectly captures the cozy magic of the holidays, celebrating the true spirit of Christmas: the kindness and warmth we share with others. It’s an ideal card to accompany a gift or to send on its own to remind someone how much their kindness means to you during the holidays.

“Believe in the Magic of Small Moments” Card (Bear & Tree)

The “Believe in the Magic of Small Moments” card encourages us to cherish the little things that make the season special. Its design mirrors the bear and tree theme – you’ll see the same adorable bear (now holding a tiny gift) sitting happily beside a Christmas tree adorned with ornaments. The scripted text “Believe in the Magic of small Moments” on the card front is a gentle reminder to find wonder in everyday holiday scenes: a child’s giggle while ornament-hanging, the cozy glow of lights on a quiet night, or a shared cookie with a friend. The artwork’s soft colors and cute style create a nostalgic, whimsical mood. This card is perfect for sending a bit of inspiration and comfort, helping friends and family slow down and remember that holiday magic is often found in the small moments.

Coordinated Gift Tags (Penguin, Deer & Duck)

Finally, add the perfect finishing touch to your presents with our matching set of printable Christmas gift tags. These tags feature an array of cute winter animals – from a penguin in a scarf to a reindeer with ornaments on its antlers, and even a little duck dressed for the snow (as seen above). Each tag showcases one of these characters against a festive patterned background (think snowflakes and winter foliage), plus a warm greeting. For example, the tags say “Merry Christmas” with space to write your “To/From” and a note. They coordinate beautifully with the cards (you’ll notice the same friendly art style and color palette), making your whole gift presentation feel extra thoughtful and cohesive. Tie these tags onto wrapped gifts, goodie bags, or jars of treats to instantly add a handmade, heartwarming touch. Whether it’s the penguin, deer, duck or other little friends in the set, these tags are sure to bring a smile to anyone who peeks at their gifts under the tree!

DIY Printing & Assembly: From Screen to Craft Table

You don’t need to be a crafting pro to turn these printables into beautiful cards and tags. One of the joys of print-and-cut crafts is how simple it can be – and we’re here to guide you with a mini tutorial. Gather your supplies (printer, paper, scissors, maybe a hole punch) and get ready to craft some holiday magic at home:

  1. Download Your Files: First, download the printable card or tag files to your computer. If you’re a Pepper Printable Club member, you can grab them from the club library; otherwise, download them from the shop after purchase. Save the files somewhere easy to find (like your Desktop or a special “Christmas Printables” folder).
  2. Choose the Right Paper & Print Settings: For the cards, use good quality cardstock – something sturdy so your cards feel substantial. For the gift tags, cardstock works great too, or you could try a matte photo paper for really vibrant colours. (If you have self-adhesive label paper and want sticker tags, that’s an option as well!) Open the PDF or JPG and set your printer to its highest quality setting (often called “Best”).
Print in color at 100% scale (no scaling) on the cardstock – this ensures the artwork prints at the correct size and the colours come out beautifully vibrant and true.
  3. Cut & (For Cards) Fold: Once printed, let the ink dry for a minute to avoid smudges. Then, grab a pair of sharp scissors or a paper trimmer. Cut out each card and tag carefully along the guideline or edge of the design. The cards are designed to be folded – for example, the Santa card is provided as an A4 that you fold into an A5 card. So after cutting, gently fold the card in half; you can score the fold lightly first for a neater edge. For tags, no folding needed.
  4. Add Finishing Touches: For the tags, a couple of quick extra steps will make them gift-ready. Use a small hole punch to punch a hole at the top of each tag. Then thread a piece of twine, ribbon, or cozy string through the hole. You might choose rustic jute twine for a farmhouse feel or a red satin ribbon for a pop of Christmas color. Tie the tags onto your wrapped presents, gift bags, mason jars of cookie mix – whatever you’re gifting. The result is an instant dose of homemade charm! (Tip: If you’re using the cards, pair them with an A5 envelope or craft an envelope yourself from pretty paper. Handwrite a message inside – your genuine words + a handmade card equals holiday magic.)

That’s it – download, print, cut, and assemble. In just a few easy steps, you’ve created heartfelt DIY Christmas cards and tags that look like they came from a boutique, but are made by you. Enjoy your crafting (maybe with family or friends for extra fun), and take pride in knowing each card and tag carries a bit of your love and personality.
