Here is an overview of what you will learn from this tutorial.

  •  2:49 Creating a New Category
  • 3:22 Exporting the Digital Scrapbooking Kits
  • 3:50 Deleting the Digital Scrapbooking Kits
  • 4:04 Importing the Digital Scrapbooking Kits

Now, open your program and let's get started!

Creating a New Category

Let's start by creating a new document.

Click View > Studio > Assets. Now you see an empty library. Click on the plus sign or the small triangle on the bottom right of Assets, then click Create New Category. Rename the new category you just created by clicking the plus sign again, then you click Rename Category. I name my new category "Digital Scrapbooking Kits".

You can also rename the subcategories. Click on that subcategory and rename it. I name it "Lemonade and Icecream" because I am adding lemonade and icrecream elements in the next step.

Open your folder where you saved the elements that you want to store in the Assets panel. select them all, and then drag and drop them into the document. Next, click on the subcategory, which is "Lemonade and Icecream" then click Add from Selection. Now you see the elements added into the panel.

From the Assets panel you can pick the element you want to use for your digital project. Just select it and drag and drop into the document. It's so easy.

Exporting the Digital Scrapbooking Kits

We need to export the design elements  that we added so that they will not slow down the program. Don't worry because you can always import them again.

Click Assets, then select Export Assets from the drop down menu to save them as an .afassets file. This file will contain the assets and subcategory structure from the currently selected category. Don't forget to name it, and click Save.

Deleting the Digital Scrapbooking Kits

After exporting your assets, you can now delete the category.

Click Assets > Delete Category then "Yes" to confirm that you want to delete it.

Importing the Digital Scrapbooking Kits

You can easily import the Assets anytime you need them.

Click Assets > Imports Assets, then you can just pick the name of the Assets that you exported. The element will be loaded to your panel once again.

We're Done!

That's It. Now that you've learned how to use the Assets function of in your new favourite graphic program, you can add more than one category or kit.

You can add, export, delete, and import anytime you need them foryour digital papers or printables.
