5 Scrapbook Ideas to Stand Out from the Crowd

Gather some Scrapbook Ideas to make your Scrapbooks stand out!. Scrapbooking is an easy way to preserve memories and create keepsakes that will last a lifetime. Whether you're looking for inspiration or just need a little help getting started, these scrapbooking ideas will inspire you.

Scrapbook Idea 1: Create a Unique Layout

A unique layout is one of the first things people notice when someone looks at your scrapbook pages. It's also one of the easiest ways to stand out from the crowd. If you're not sure where to start, try using different papers, embellishments, and other items to create a unique design. Depending on the topic you are scrapbooking for pick a scrapbook kit and print out the elements and papers you need for your adventure!

Have a look at this scrapbooking layout. It has been created with the Scrapbooking Kit "A Fresh Start". This scrapbook layout is so unique because it has not just the photos included but is also decorated with some doodles in the background. The papers just underline the photos. It doesn't take attention from them.

Scrapbook Idea 2: Add Colourful Photos

Adding color to your photos will help them stand out more than plain black and white ones. Try adding bright colors like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, or even neon colors.

Here is another scrapbook layout from the same kit, A fresh Start. But you see - it's totally different! The blue in the background gives the photos a different expression. So you need to be careful which backgrounds you use for which photos. Yes, colorful photos pop out but depending on the elements and papers you choose they might disappear a little! Adding a black frame as done in the first layout would help to make the pictures stand out more.

Scrapbook Idea 3: Include Interesting Textures

Another way to add interest to your scrapbook pages is by using interesting textures. These can range from simple patterns like stripes, dots, or polka dots to more complex designs like wood grain, marble, or leather.

Look at this Scrapbook Layout. You can see the picture not just in the frame but blended into the background on the top left. This makes you aware of the texture in the background which makes the entire layout even more interesting.

Scrapbook Idea 4: Choose an Eye-Catching Theme

If you're looking for something different than what's out there, consider choosing a theme that will stand out. This might mean going with a color scheme that isn't as common, such as this green and blue, or using a patterned paper that has a unique texture.

Look at this layout. At a first glance - there are three pictures from a small one on the bottom right to a much bigger one ton the top left. If you have a second look you see that they show the same little girl but at different stages in her life. While she is a baby on the bottom right she grows to a toddler in the center of the page. On the top left you see a picture of her getting into school - a nice walk through the time all in one layout and not that easy to show.
Perfectly done here though - the Scrapbook Idea obviously is to show the different stages of her young life as well as giving a hint on the time which is flying!

This Scrapbook Layout has been created with the Digital Scrapbooking Kit "Time Stands Still"

If this is a scrapbook idea for you and you want to create a similar layout - a walk through the years - have a look at the special elements the scrapbook kit comes with! Look at the versatile papers and the clocks which symbolize time.

Scrapbook Idea 5: Add some Personality

Another thing you can do to add personality to your scrapbook pages is to use photos that are more artistic than those taken by a professional photographer. These kinds of photos tend to be more fun and creative, so they're perfect for adding personality to your scrapbook.

Here is an example from the Kit "Welcome to Life" - see how the photos come out because they are black and white!
