Have you ever done a progressive challenge? It's like a speed scrap in slow motion which gives everyone the chance to play along!
I'll give you 7 steps. One each day (usually in the evening in the states) for a week. You'll then have a couple of days to finish things up and post your layout here by March 14. I'll also have you post your in progress layout about half way through (don't worry, I'll tell you when) for some extra fun!
I'll update this post with each step to have a master record, and also add a new reply that the next step has been added. Don't worry, you can jump in anytime, so even if you get a late start, you can still play along!
Everyone who participates will get a treat from me, and I'll randomly select one lucky winner (more if lots of you play along) for a grand prize!
Are you ready?!?!?
Step 1 ) Select two papers and place them on your layout. One as the background and the other must remain square, but you can position it anyway you'd like. Find 5-7 pictures to use. We'll deal with them in the next step, but I figured you'd want time to find that many pictures!
Step 2) Arrange your pictures so you have one focal (primary) picture that is larger than the rest, and then arrange the others so that at least a little bit of each one touches the focal picture. Mat or stroke all but the focal picture.
Step 3) Attach the two papers to one another in any way you'd like - staples, brads, etc. Also, use some kind of stitching element at least twice somewhere on the layout. (No, you cannot count that as the way you attach your two papers to one another.)
Post your layout as it is now in progress, after you complete step 3, before I post step 4 tomorrow evening and I'll have a special treat for you! Make sure you share your layout in a reply here so I see it! You can always use Photobucket or another photo site if you don't want to include the in progress layout in your gallery!
Step 4) Time for some buttons! Lots of them! Add at least 7 buttons (you can repeat the same button more than once) where ever you'd like on your layout!
Step 5) OK, pick one element - a flower, shape, whatever -and repeat it 3-5 times on your layout anywhere you'd like.
Step 6) Add a tag/word art piece with ONE word title/descriptor for your page. Attach it any way you'd like.
Step 7) Add the location and date information for your photo somewhere on your layout. Add drop shadows if you need to yet and apply those last finishing touches. You must also change ONE thing - either remove something I required in a step above OR add something you feel your layout needs. Make sure to mention your one thing when posting your final layouts here!
You'll have until Saturday at 6:00pm Eastern time to post the final layouts! Please provide an image or a link here in this thread to show me your layouts!

YAY!! A progressive. LOVE them. I'm in. Now to find 5 - 7 pictures. Scrapping with so many pictures is a challenge in itself for me.

I added step two a little early today since I am going out to eat with my family tonight since I've been away all week! Didn't want to forget about everyone here though!
Here is step 2 (also added on the main post above):
Step 2) Arrange your pictures so you have one focal (primary) picture that is larger than the rest, and then arrange the others so that at least a little bit of each one touches the focal picture. Mat or stroke all but the focal picture.

Mat I understand.

"or stroke" ... showing my dummy side here ... what does stroke mean? Maybe I know already and call it something else? LOLShari

In Photoshop and PSE, it is a command which basically allows you to add an outline in any color to your image at a size you determine. It is under the Edit menu. So, essentially it becomes an outline. A mat can do the same thing except, of course, you can use papers, etc. to mat. The main point is to create a small border around your smaller photos. Make sense now?

Got it. Thanks Janice. I use PSP and just this morning heard the term stroke from Elaine. Who knows, I may find something in PSP that does that.

But for the challenge, I completely understand now what you are looking for.
