Ranting...I know

I noticed no one ever comments (well hardly) on pages in the gallery. Just curious. I know there are lots of challenges because I've done quite a few since I've started. Maybe no one ever goes thru the gallery? Maybe it's because this is a dropzone for pages since it's an open gallery? Don't we all love to get some recognition for our pages. Was wondering how come there isn't any thread every day (or at least once a week) for Gallery Standouts?

I hope I'm not doing too much complaining here. I love the site...just wish more took part in giving a little love...lol!

No, Norma, you're not complaining too much! I've actually noticed it myself - one does seem to get quite a few comments on pages submitted for the challenges, but if one does post an LO just for the fun of it, comments seem to rather trickle than flow...as to the reason for this - well I don't really know! There isn't one I can think of. I have to admit I probably don't comment as much as I should do, but I promise to do better! :)
As to the gallery standouts - I've been thinking it might be a good idea, too. Maybe start with a weekly one? If you like you can make a suggestion to Monja along these lines - I'm sure it will be looked upon favourably! :)

I hope you will stay with this site, because it is a really great and friendly one!

Norma I agree about the commenting and I think it is because of this site having an open gallery. I know at times I don't get around much for commenting myself but I do at least try to leave a comment on every page that is posted in the gallery that has been done for the challenges that I host plus some of the other layouts that I see and like. And I don't leave just a "nice page" or even just a "beautiful page" comment, I hate those. I see that at other sites and we all know they must be copying and pasting those couple of words.

I agree about the other sites. I see the same people saying the same things time and time again. I try to at least comment on at least a few a day. Being an open gallery does hinder the process. I'm okay with it. Was just wondering because usually I see something (not talking about me here) but so many outstanding pages have no comments. At least I know now. LOL!

Me, too. I try to comment on every layout in the challenges, as well. I will try to pay more attention. I will say that there are some CTs who drop layouts of and never comment on anyone other's layouts, which annoys the pickles out of me. :) Fortunately, there aren't many.

Hmm - I hear what you are all saying. It was for this reason we introduced the reward scheme where once a person reaches 300 posts, 600 and 900 I think are the levels - they get access to a free kit called Devotion. I believe the posts made in both forum and gallery count for this.
There are a lot of Creative Team members who post layouts for the designers they are working for. Often you will find they don't comment much although out Creative Team we have here at the resort do a fabulous job and they do comment often in forum and gallery and on challenge layouts. We have a fabulous team here and we are so very, very proud of them all.
Some sites have a praise game that helps with comments. It's possible we could try that. ??

I'm staying here too. I love gallery viewing and leaving love. The inspiration here is incredible. I'm still trying to find my way around here. I'm working on getting more posts so I can 'see' more.
I'm noticing more and more names I'm familiar with.
Now to locate where the challenges are... I've cleaned up the mess on my computer and I'm ready to scrap again.

For the challenges it's about a third of the way down in the forum you will see Cocktail Hour (Challenges)
under that there are sub categories by the month and in each of the months are the challenges.
