Lately, I had a lot of stress added to my life. Beside the normal things such as work, handling Digidesignresort and my University Classes a lot of personal stress got on my plate. I didn’t know anymore what to do. I felt just tired and my muscles were aching already when I got up and I just sit all day on the computer beside our one hour walk every morning with Maxi. So this was kinda scary.
When I went to my physiotherapist and we talked while she did her job with me she said that she also had these problems when she were close to a burn out. This definitely turned my alarm signals to red because the last thing I’d need is another burn out. She said that it helped her a lot to meditate. I know that I enjoyed autogenic training so I thought – why not try it again?
I listened to some meditation music (I got that for cheap from the iTunes store) while lying in my bed. But since I’m a creative person I got bored quickly. So when I read about Mandala I thought: why not combine meditation with digital scrapbooking? Arranging elements and papers can be very addictive and while doing so I could easily listen to some meditation music.
Digital Scrapbooking for Meditation – the result was amazing:
Beside the fact that I finally got a layout or two done (actually I also scrapped a mousepad and had that printed from Cafepress) I enjoyed the peace coming along with digital scrapbooking while listening to music a lot. I must say that while doing so I turned off my email program and anything that could distract me because emails coming in here for me all the time.
Really, this works. But you must be willing to turn everything off. Then Digital Scrapbooking for Meditation is as good as lying on your sofa or in your bed while doing that. I felt a lot more relaxed after my training. Now I take 30 minutes “off” all 2-3 days, just half an hour just for me. I feel more relaxed.
It doesn’t matter if your stress comes from motherhood, work, family related stuff or an illness – the point is to get things sometimes from your mind. And if you really get rid of anything around you and just focus on music and digital scrapbooking it is pretty hard not to relax.
Here is my result, the mousepad with digital scrapbooking items
As you can see, it’s a little “used” already – no wonder since I use it eight hours every day 😉

This was fun and relaxing and the image you see is from my trip to the US – yes, that is the Golden Gate Bridge. A wonderful memory to preserve.
