Create a gradient to change your background

Learn how to create a gradient to change your background

Sometimes the backgrounds added to the kits we bought seem not to match the colors in our photos. You can recolor the whole background but I also like to just add a gradient over the background to change it just a little. In this tutorial I show you how to do this with Photoshop Elements.

I´m using Carena’s and mine kit “Spring Meadow“.

Written instructions on how to create a gradient to change your background.

-So first of all open your background in your Photoshop Elements program.

-Click on  new layer ( see pic below)

You can click on the little colored tabs to pick another color, you can use the slider to adjust too.

Or add even more color by clicking right under the color bar.

Just try different options till you have it set to your likes. and click OK

Now you can still change the angle if you wish (see pic below), click ok when done.

Try out some different ones, just play a bit with the different options till you get it as you like it.

I chose to go with the overlay setting, adjusted my colors a bit more after picking overlay as blending and this is how my background looks now (see pic below) The gradient option is an easy way to have your backgrounds suit certain off your photos better.
